Knife Care and Warranty

D-2 Tool Steel and 440C Stainless Steel are my primary knife steels. D-2 is a very tough, wear resistant, and stain resistant tool steel, but it does require some care. Prolonged exposure to acidic fluids or blood will corrode the blade if not properly cared for.440C Stainless Steel is one of the most corrosion resistant knife steels, but it is not rustproof or stainproof. It can rust if minimal care is not taken.

You should keep your knife clean and dry. If you intend to store your knife for long periods, do not store it in the leather sheath. Leather sheaths can trap moisture and naturally occurring leather acids and this may cause rust or some discoloration.

Semi-Chrome and Renaissance Wax are great products for applying a protective layer of wax on your blades.Rubbing with a light machine oil is beneficial also. Brass and Nickel Silver guards may be buffed to a shine using Semi-Chrome and a soft cloth. Brasso is also great for brass guards only.
